Stargate Universe is the new series set in the "universe" created by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, and it's set to make its debut in the Fall of this year.

Sci Fi Wire reports that a blog has just been launched (see below for the link) by the show's consulting producer and writer Joseph Mallozzi to update fans on the production as it moves along.

In SU, a mixed group of military and research personnel as well as some civilians are forced to run through a Stargate when their secret base is attacked.

They appear on the other side of the Stargate on board an old ship called Destiny, which is locked on an unknown course.

Robert Carlyle, Ming-Na and Lou Diamond Philips are among the cast members of the new series.
