Yuna gets her wings as MAS’ social media envoy
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines has appointed internationally-renowned singer-songwriter Yuna as its social media ambassador.
MAS’ head of advertising and promotions Khairul Syahar Khalid said Yuna is the perfect embodiment of what the airlines wants to achieve through its social media endeavour.
“By sharing her journey with us and her fans, we believe it will inspire others to follow in her footsteps and emulate her successes,” he said at the launch of MAS’ social media platforms on Tuesday.
MAS’ Twitter (@mas) and Facebook page will feature exclusive content showcasing Yuna’s journey around the world.
“I’m really happy they chose me. I believe in the product because I’ve never had a bad experience with MAS,” said Yuna.
MAS also announced the grand prize winner of its Round the World Challenge. The Facebook contest saw participants going on a virtual tour around the world to collect the most Enrich miles.
The grand prize winner of 4.36 million Enrich miles was Klang student Chong Sim Yan, 23,
Hundreds of fans gathered at the event to watch Yuna, 26, perform her hits Terukir Di Bintang and Live Your Life.
She also performed her latest singles Lelaki and I Wanna Go, her first offering from her upcoming EP.
Yuna, who is based in Los Angeles, is gearing up for the release of her highly-anticipated EP Sixth Street on May 7 under David Foster’s Verve Records.
The release will be accompanied by an exclusive live performance on virtual concert platform Stageit.
Yuna said fans can expect “a cool acoustic show”.
“I’ll be performing all the songs from Sixth Street.”
