KUALA TERENGGANU: After a three- year hiatus, Akademi Fantasia season four winner Mohammad Faizal Ramly is set to make a comeback.
The singer, popularly known as Faizal AF4, won the competition with the Indonesian song Dealova. He was last in action in 2009.
Famous for his hits such as Pulau Asmara and Pelangi Petang, Faizal said the past three years had been turbulent for him as he was betrayed by a close friend.
Busy days ahead: Faizal is planning to revive his fan club. “It has served as a valuable lesson for me.
I feel better now. I am now ready to re-embrace my career as a singer, which I have longed for all my life,” he said yesterday.
The 28-year-old Terengganu-born singer said there were lots of gossip and innuendoes being circulated, labelling him as having a drug problem, which forced him to take a break from his career.
Faizal, who has a two-year-old daughter, said he was dedicating his “comeback” to the two special people in his life.
“With a family now, I know that there is more to life than just being a singer.
“However, rest assured that I have never forgotten my fans,” he said.
On his immediate plans, Faizal said he had been busy recording three new songs.
“The songs were composed by renowned composers, including Awang BPR and Fauziah Nawi. I will choose the best song to be released as a single in April,” he said, adding that he planned to revive his fan club.
Saying that he has now learnt how to handle pressure, he quipped “I am back, but accept me for who I am”.
