Triple cheer

A trio of Hong Kong stars serve up a triple helping of festive cheer this lunar new year with the blockbuster comedy, I Love Hong Kong 2012.

JOINING in the the fray of lunar new year flicks in typical festive spirit this roaring Year Of The Dragon is the star-studded I Love Hong Kong 2012.

The success of last year’s madcap yet warm-hearted I Love Hong Kong quickly prompted this sequel of sorts, produced by Eric Tsang and directed by Chung Shu Kai and Wilson Chin.

Headlined again by veteran actor Tsang, the cast of this second instalment includes Teresa Mo, Bosco Wong, Denise Ho, Evergreen Mak, Stanley Fung, 6Wing and Viann Zhang.

Looney New Year: (from left) Eric Tsang, Evergreen Mak, Teresa Mo, 6Wing (of Hong Kong hip hip duo Fama) and Denise Ho star in I Love Hong Kong 2012.

The story goes that a well-known weatherman (Fung), who constantly harbours dreams of grabbing the headlines, laments the fact that he has never succeeded in doing so even until he is about to retire.

One day, he finds out that the world is facing a deadly threat, finally presenting him with the opportunity to become a news sensation.

This is when the fun, laughter and havoc roll in.

More good news is in store as Tsang will be accompanied by his co-stars Mo and Mak as he pays us an early Chinese New Year visit today and tomorrow, to promote their feel-good lunar new year blockbuster.

Today will be a packed day for the trio who will be in Kuala Lumpur to attend a press conference, media interviews, a mall appearance and the gala premiere of the movie.

Catch the live interview with the trio on the movie’s official radio station Star RFM 98.8 (operated by The Star) from 7pm till 8pm tonight.

Following that, the stars will be making an appearance at Cheras Leisure Mall Level 1 Main Entrance, Kuala Lumpur, at 8.30pm before gracing the premiere at GSC Cheras Leisure Mall. Fans can attend a meet-and-greet session with the stars and take part in games to win exclusive merchandise.

Additionally, Tsang, Mo and Mak will also be paying a special visit to Mentakab, Pahang, tomorrow (Jan 19). They will be at Mentakab Star Mall at 11am to grace the opening of GSC Mentakab Star Mall. It is also the first GSC Lite cinema, designed for smaller market centres without sacrificing the effects of big screens and digital sound.

Tsang and Mo play husband and wife while Mak provides the laughs in the movie.
