Life and love
ARTSPHERE
Compiled by SHEELA CHANDRAN
THE Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre is cooking up a feast with Belacan Geragok And Other Prawns. The play is based on two Malaysians grappling with life and romance with their histories in tow.
The story is about Emmanuel de Cruz (Mark Beau de Silva), part of the recent generation of Portuguese Eurasians who left Ujong Pasir in Malacca in search of greener pastures. Adam Malik (Ashraf Zain), on the other hand, has never left Kuala Lumpur except for a short stint at a college in Perak.
The recession has hit and Emmanuel subsequently lost his job at the TV station. Follow Adam as he coaches Emmanuel through several mock interviews, resulting in humorous and telling scenes of their relationship and their past which will ultimately determine their future.
This show is recommended for mature audiences. Showtime is May 27-31 (8.30pm, except May 31 when it is at 3pm). Tickets are priced at RM25 and RM15 for students, senior citizens and the disabled. Show on May 27 is priced at RM10. For more details, call 03-4047 9000 or browse klpac.org.
