Amazing Race Asia returns

After a very successful first season (with more than 15 million viewers), The Amazing Race Asia (Tara) is back next month with Season Two, which promises to be more gritty and exciting than the original.

Ten teams have been selected out of the more than 2, 500 applications sent in from countries around Asia.

The 10 new teams of the new season of Amazing race.
The successful teams are sisters Vanessa and Pamela Chong from Malaysia; dancing mums Ann Tan and Diane Douglas from Malaysia; best buddies Rovilson Fernandez and Marc Nelson from the Philippines; dating couple Kinaryosih and Brett Money from Indonesia; siblings Daichi and Sawaka Kawashima from Japan; ex-housemates Aurelia Chenat and Sophie Teng from Hong Kong; dating couple Monica Lo and Edwin Lo, also from Hong Kong; married couple Henry and Terri Reed from the Philippines; Paula Taylor and Natasha Monks from Thailand and gym buddies Colin Low and Adrian Yap from Singapore.

Viewers will not only get to watch some explosive rivalry between teams (and maybe even among teams) but appreciate the good looking competitors on the race this year – many of them are either actors, television personalities or models.

Alternatively, there is American-born and Singapore-based host Allan Wu (who will reprise his role) to gawk at.

Tara 2 will premičre on AXN (Astro Channel 701) in November. The second season, says executive producer and director Michael McKay, is bigger and bolder than the original, with teams travelling further and visiting countries in four continents.

The Amazing Race Asia is AXN’s biggest original production to date not only in terms of production cost, advertising and promotional effort, but in the level of participation by viewers around Asia.

Sponsors for Tara 2 are Aviva, Caltex , Nokia Nseries, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific, Bintan Lagoon Resort and Standard Chartered Bank.
