IT’S already a phenomenon in China and is set to blaze an equally successful trail here. The highly anticipated teen-drama, Blazing Teen, has arrived and is expected to revive the almost forgotten yo-yo craze.

Blazing Teen revolves around the lives of young yo-yo players who face various challenges in their quest for victory.

Set in the fictitious city of Jiang Hei, where almost every youngster is a promising yo-yo champion, the series follows the ups and downs of Leon Li whose unpolished talent is spotted by the high school yo-yo coach.

Leon and his team mates are placed in a camp to undergo gruelling training aimed at preparing them for the regional championship. They face many challenges from rival teams.

The show, created by Zhang Lei, a prominent music video and TV commercial director, features some breathtaking computer effects. Blazing Teen is also full of comedy and drama.

“It is a refreshing programme as it revives the yo-yo craze. With the special effects and great cast, we are confident this show will be a hit,” said 8TV general manager of business development, marketing and communications, Lam Swee Kim.

“You don’t have to be a teenager to enjoy a youth-oriented show like this. You can just be hooked by the quality of the programme and its entertainment value,” said Lam.

The 26-episode series will be aired on 8TV every weekend from 8.30am to 9am beginning today.
